THE GREAT GHOST RESCUE

With Jason Isaacs, Kevin McKidd, Emma Fielding, Anthony Head, Steven Mackintosh, Georgia Groome

Written by David Solomons & Yann Samuell (based on the novel by Eva Ibbotson)

Directed by Yann Samuell

Humphrey was a school boy whose accidental death leads to him becoming a resident ghost of the old building, joining his mix-matched new ghost family the Craggyfords, including a set of three decapitated French royal sisters sharing one body, a grumpy Highlander, a drowned teenager, a flaming skull. After many years the abandoned building is set for demolition, leaving the Craggyfords homeless. They soon discover that they are not alone, with ghosts from all over the world in their predicament and old castles and houses being refurbished or torn down. So, Humphrey plots to approach the prime minister and a philanthropist running the Project Rejuvenate programme, to find them new homes. But, there is a more mysterious and malicious reasoning behind it.

This is a family flick with a bit of a difference, but not immune to silly scenes.
